So, in the opening round of free agency, WFT was busy:
| Washington Football Team | KickStand | LG Luke Champagne | 3 years, $129,000,000 (Bonus: $105.0M. Salary: $8.0M, $8.0M, $8.0M.) | 74 | 74 | | Washington Football Team | KickStand | FB Ray Kinney | 3 years, $21,600,000 (Bonus: $3.6M. Salary: $6.0M, $6.0M, $6.0M.) | 58 | 58 | | Washington Football Team | KickStand | FL Ellis Moorehead | 2 years, $30,000,000 (Bonus: $20K. Salary: $15.0M, $15.0M.) | 44 | 44 | | Washington Football Team | KickStand | FS Dylan Robertson | 3 years, $24,000,000 (Bonus: $30K. Salary: $8.0M, $8.0M, $8.0M.) | 39 | 39 | | Washington Football Team | KickStand | NT Grayson Schmitz | 3 years, $165,000,000 (Bonus: $30K. Salary: $55.0M, $55.0M, $55.0M.) | 60 | 60 | | Washington Football Team | KickStand | SE Duane Vanderpool | 3 years, $45,000,000 (Bonus: $30K. Salary: $15.0M, $15.0M, $15.0M.) | 46 | 46 |
Let's keep an eye on the bonuses for context here... but I remain surprised how much command I can still get when I have cap space.
However, the big news is right here:
I honestly tried to sign this guy...
...made the rank amateur mistake of going for the long term deal, rather than the obvious short term. He had a higher possible bonus number so I don't even know that I would have won out, but... dammit.
