So, who gets the rock?
RB Controversies on both teams...
-Ravens have 4 contenders for carries before cutdowns, let's have a look:
So, back on a one year deal, he was very effective with us early in his career, just got too expensive. Is he the answer? He'd be short term, but does come off a pretty good run elsewhere.
Sergio Polanco | RB | 3 | 36 | 53 | No (45) | Not drafted. | 0 | 2139 | Free Agency | 24 | 6-1 | 228 | $5.5M | 1 | 3 | 64 | 65 | 13 | 48 | 31 | 21 |
Polanco has that few-bars-but-good-ones that some clever GMs seem to make work well... 55/65 Hole Rec and 85 Brk Spd to be specific. High elusiveness is, I guess, a drawback? 3.36 ypc last season is not impressive, and nobody else bid for him.
Okay, Murray is great for chem w/99 Pers, and he's a mentor and KR candidate, so he has some angles to make the team regardless of getting carries. That said... 1.69 ypc and an apparent void at Hole Rec doesn't make much case for him.
Claude Jasso | RB | 3 | 34 | 34 | YES (90) | Not drafted. | 0 | 2139 | Free Agency | 24 | 6-2 | 211 | $3.4M | 2 | 1 | 22 | 46 | 13 | 94 | 2 | 66 |
Finally, a wild card, guy we picked up in the regular season stage last year, so he was on the active roster but not in the lineup. But in his rookie year he posted 1,000+ yards for the Bucs. Weird mix of skills, high ST an Elusiveness and little else. But in my experience, that mix can actually work out okay.
Okay...I didn't say it was a mix of
thrilling options at RB, just that we had options. WFT will be more interesting, I reckon.
Base notion right now, before camp/preseason: RB1 Polanco, RB2 Jasso, carry 2x FB
