We've sold pies at Thanksgiving for sports as one of our fundraisers for years. I hate asking people, so I usually just send one email and put an order form out on the front desk, and if people do it, fine. I do not go office to office.
I usually end up buying a bunch myself and making an additional contribution. Pies are $11 and we make around $3.50 a pie, so if I give $77, that's the equivalent profit of selling 22 pies versus cajoling people into buying 7 pies for $77 where we'd only make $25 in profit. Not worth the hassle and annoyance.
