Not are there still kids who come home from school and are by themselves until their parents come home. I know that is still happening. That's stupid. We leave out 11 year old alone for a couple hours. He is mature for his age, has a phone, and knows where to run if something bad happened. He literally sits on the couch and plays roblox and I can see where he is on find my phone. It obviously depends on the kid, but IMO 13 is plenty old enough. We have even left his 8 year old sister with him, for a very short amount of time, for parent teacher conference, etc...
