It was a civil trial about sexual abuse in a storefront church (grim) that had some loosey-goosey parent organization, and I asked them if they had any kind of established process/program/oversight addressing sexual abuse when ordaining pastors (and they said no).

There was also a point where they kept trying to get the pastor in question on the stand but he claimed to be out-of-state until an informant called in during the middle of the trial and said they had just seen him at a local mall & they sent sheriffs down there to pick him up.

It was like some kinda Pauly Shore movie. A very sad & grim Pauly Shore movie.
