The bonus was never a thing. He's getting that money regardless, it's the deferred portion of his signing bonus from his last contract. He is, separately, by contract, required to pay back some of his bonus for not playing next year - that's between him and the Bucs how they work that out.
The idea that $15 million changes hands or doesn't change hands based on retiring a day or two later or earlier was ridiculous.
