I would do movie then dinner. Like you say, a good conversation piece.
Don't know your definition of "gaga" but if there is some attraction, I'd encourage it and see where this leads. I don't really believe in love (vs lust) at first sight, and believe relationships take time to develop.
Be sure to think up of how to end the dinner - whose paying, "want to do X next weekend" etc.
