Maybe I should use another term then. I've rooted enthusiastically for Michigan my whole life, except for a few periods when I abstained from sports due to the negative effect it had on me when a favorite team of mine lost in terms of my personal mental health. I didn't have much choice - my father attended there. We were always the type that had an oversized flyswatter around the house that said 'For Buckeyes, Spartans, and other obnoxious pests'. There were two positives considered to ever come out of OSU - Archie Griffin and Jack Nicklaus, though we made an exception for Chris Spielman as well.

So I guess, I'm in whatever category that's not a fan but invested enough emotionally to get depressed during their bad times and fully cognizant that it's unhealthy and probably immoral for me to be as invested as I am. Whatever you call that.
