The "double-hook" designated hitter rule, used by the ALPB last season, has sparked the most controversy. In that situation, the pitcher's spot would bat in place of the DH for the remainder of the game.

I think what I'd really like to see as a rule change is a limit to the number of pitchers on the roster, coupled with rules that prevent shuttling pitchers up and down from AAA.
