OTIS HALL

O-Hall. The Big O. O-Zone. The Mayor. This seven-footer from small-town Ohio attracted nicknames as easily as he made friends. A poll of the Lafayette student section might easily have named Otis as their favorite player.

Otis wasn't expected to take the world by storm when we recruited him. However, he was very quick for a big, and his athleticism enabled him to play as a "small" forward and get him onto the court as a freshman.

The next year, he moved into the starting lineup, and earned an All-Patriot League selection. The arrival of Todd DeHaven enabled us to shift Otis into a reserve role and, to his credit, he accepted it with class. He remained productive, and he was occasionally dominant; we suffered very little let-down when O entered the game.

Gregarious Otis will pursue a M.S. in Communications at Northwestern University.

Thanks for the memories, Otis.
