TODD DeHAVEN

I wonder if I jinxed us when I was recruiting this big man from Philadelphia. I said of him, "DeHaven might not turn out to be a four-year starter for us." He won't earn that distinction, but not because he wasn't good enough. He began proving that the minute he stepped on the court for the first time.

Todd's Lafayette career started with a redshirt season that, in retrospect, I wish I hadn't given him. His 2016/17 season was marred by injuries, but he played very well when he was able to take the floor.

Over the course of the next two years, Todd established himself as the most dominant post player in the Patriot League. An especially ferocious rebounder, he broke the school record for rebounds in a season in 2018/19 and then again this year. In both seasons, he was the conference's top rebounder. With one more year, he would have surely set a new Lafayette career record in this category.

A first team All-Conference selection for the last two years, he won the Patriot League Player of the Year award this season.

Because he redshirted, Todd will receive his degree in Philosophy in May. He'll then wait for Draft Night, when he'll discover if his dreams of playing professional basketball will come true.

Thanks for the memories, Todd.
