Part of adjusting to the rest of the world catching up will be fans and players having to understand that the World Cup isn't a popularity contest or a lifetime achievement award. If there's a 22-year-old who can play better than you, then your time is up. Ashley Hatch was a huge miss in forming this team, averaging .73 GPG and only carrying one true striker while leaving her off so some of the others could have their victory lap was ridiculous.
