(16) 1999 vs. (1) 1919
Our first upset as 1919 wins the first game of the series buy 1999 wins 4 of the next 5 to win the series in 6 games. The MVP was Aaron Boone who hit .591 with 13 hits and 9 RBI's. Hid Eller was 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in 18.0 innings in the loss as he accounted for 1919's only 2 wins.

(15) 1995 vs. (2) 1975
1975 wins the opening game but 1995 responds with 3 straight but 1975 turned it around to win the last 3 games of the series to win in 7. Tony Perez was named MVP as he hit .500 with 14 hits and 3 RBI's.

(14) 1923 vs. (3) 1940
1923 with the upset winning in 5 games. Bubbles Hargrave was named MVP as he hit .318 with 2 homeruns and 7 RBI's.

(13) 1956 vs. (4) 1976
A back and forth series that went 7 games. 1976 wins the last game 5-2 to advance. Pete Rose was named MVP as he hit .357 with 10 hits, 1 homerun, and 3 RBI's. George Foster hit 4 homeruns but only had 5 total RBI's and hit only .222 as 4 of his 6 hits in the series were homeruns. Frank Robinson hit .267 with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI's in the loss.

(12) 2012 vs. (5) 1990
2012 with a 7 games upset as they won the last two games on the road for the 4-3 series victory. 1990 was all about going how their pitching went. In their three wins they allowed a total of 1 run. They allowed 29 total in their 4 losses. Ryan Ludwick was named MVP as he hit .321 with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI's. Jose Rijo was 2-0 with an ERA of 0.53 in the loss.

(11) 1974 vs. (6) 1939
1939 wins the series in 5 games. Paul Derringer was named MVP as he was 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00 in 9.00 innings (strange decision but no players really had any standout numbers).

(10) 1962 vs. (7) 1970
1970 wins the series in 6 games. Pete Rose was named MVP as he hit .458 with 2 homeruns and 7 RBI's. Bobby Tolan hit .500 with 1 homerun and 4 RBI's. Johnny Bench hit .346 with 1 homerun and 11 RBI's (not sure how he wasn't MVP).

(9) 1961 vs. (8) 1972
1961 wins the first two games on the road but then 1972 wins the next 4 to win the series 4-2. Johnny Bench was named MVP as he hit only .238 but had 5 homeruns and 8 RBI's.
