2032/33 Tribute
MICHAEL PETIT
I somewhat wish I could tell you that
Michael Petit had always been patient as he waited for his turn to shine. But that's not true. The wing from New Jersey expressed his unhappiness more than once during his days at Villanova. Perhaps that's because he always knew he was good.

Michael probably shouldn't have been surprised to find himself unable to take
Asher Wise's position. However, he arrived on campus at the same time as
Reed Weisberg, who was not as highly touted as a high school player, and while Reed started from Day One, Michael didn't play much.
This year, we needed Petit's contributions, and he stepped up. He overcame a stress fracture that kept him out of action for a month or so and showed us the player we thought he'd be when we recruited him. He earned that All-Big East second team nomination, and he's leaving with an NCAA championship ring.
And, even though he played less than a thousand minutes of basketball in three years, he's expected to hear his name called on Draft Night.
Thanks for the memories, Michael.
