I have at least a partial answer: Burlington is
in the same conference with Cristo Rey. Check the CCAC (Central Carolina Athletic Conference) . They have to play each other twice this year so that'll be double the fun.
Plus, with just a 4 team "conference" and a schedule that only has 14 games listed (per MaxPreps, which can sometimes be incomplete), maybe this is a case of finding games wherever they can find them period? Neither of those smaller teams you mentioned from last year's schedule appear to be members of the NCISAA, is there a prohibition on crossplay between organizations (the way there was in Georgia for decades)?
