Surgery went perfectly and at 25% of the cost the first place tried to rope me into (I don't have insurance). The entire surgery cost less than 8K when the original quoting was at a cost of $30k.
The doctor and now his PT person have said that it couldn't have gone any better, and the recovery should be smooth.
1 week on crutches, 1 week walking with crutches, and then a slow build back up to action perhaps in a few weeks. The poorly timed part is that next Summer's tryouts are right after Xmas and he wont be ready for them. I let his school coach know and he said that he'd put him on the team he felt was appropriate. Oh well. As soon as he gets back at it I'm certain we'll get back into the lessons etc but I'm so glad his surgery went that well.
