Or in other words, Gmail doesn't have this problem, just Outlook. If this is the level of Microsoft vs Google's AI; or the level of Microsoft vs Google's manual offshore checking quality; I'll buy shares in Google.
I stopped using Hotmail for similar reasons, legit mail was consistently ending up in the junk folder, or didn't even make it to "junk".

The difference appears to be that with Outlook domains, e-mails don't even make it to the junk folder, while they do end up in junk in Gmail. Specifically legit e-mail from family members, the typical people that refuse to understand that sending an e-mail to 50 different contacts is a major risk of ending up in junk folders for a good portion of them, but also those from companies that impossible to be part of your contacts, because your first contact was with a generic info or support account.

The deciding factor with abandoning my hotmail was not receiving a specific billing e-mail, which resulted in receiving reminders I still had to pay. I was also pissed of for the sender of the reminders, not even contacting me through another medium, because people in 2025 should know that e-mail is no longer a reliable communication method.
