So we moved to get our daughter into a particular school since we are taking her out of private school. The Greenville School district is massive and the school she wanted to go to generally doesn't accept people outside of their zone and she didn't want to go to the school she is zoned for. The swim team coach at her preferred school has been softly recruiting her and most of her swim friends swim there.
So we moved, signed a 2 year lease. The house is fine and it's more convenient for her year round swim team. But today, the high school governing body passed a rule saying everyone gets a free 1 time transfer to go to any school regardless of where they are zoned. So had we not moved, the swim coach would have likely gotten my daughter in anyway with this new rule.
We were ready to be done with our old house anyway, but it would have been nice to have an expanded zone when looking for a place.
