The article clearly states that it's the father who has the traffic violations (and the car the son was driving was registered to the father, which is why it was stopped by ICE who just detained the son because they could, I guess).

ICE implied the son has traffic violations, which I guess fits Edward's definition of due process:

Quote:
"I'll put it back on you," he told reporters. "What about an 18-year-old that was stopped for a traffic violation by Mass. State Police who's wanted for being a habitual traffic offender on his way to graduation? Would you be asking that same question to the Mass. State Police for not arresting him? Like I didn't say he was dangerous, I said he's in this country illegally. We're not going to walk away from anybody."

Given that the son was not stopped by Mass. State Police, the above statement from ICE should, using proper English, be taken as most likely a hypothetical or, second most likely, the ICE agent mixing up the son & father.

Regardless, the point of all this is that advocating for due process is aligned with the 4th amendment of the U.S. Constitution and being OK with what ICE is doing is aligned with fascism.
