They are apparently sending recruitment letters to sheriff and police departments and really pissing off the folks running them. I get taking the job if you have few options, but it has no security and you're likely to be asked to do enough shady shit that it hinders your chance to get a real law enforcement job elsewhere. If you can get a job with NYPD, that's a much better option than ICE.
