Let us know how they are.

FYI, this is from the creator:

First off, let me thank the following for their contributions to the roster set:

Michael Green- creating the REAL 2004 MLB Schedule
David C Helper- providing information on market size/loyalty/fan attendance/TV Rev.
Mike Pacetti- Salary/contract info
Winston Han- Stadium info and misc. info.
Jim Wisenberg- Misc info.

Gentlemen,

It’s been a long, long journey. The end is finally here!
After starting on this project in late December, I finally “feel” like I can enjoy the fruits of the labor involved! Hundreds upon HUNDREDS of hours were invested into this beast, and I hope everyone will enjoy the roster file!

Version 1.3 is now OUT!!!

GO GET IT!! (I encourage Joe and others with large server space to please place the file on your server!!)

Version 1.2 features:

* 2003 stats
* Splits for over 800+ players based on 3 year averages (2001, 2002, 2003).
* REAL MLB 2004 schedule
* Realistic finances; Large market teams earn more-Small market less.
* Salaries set to 70%
* 40 man rosters (might have missed a few). Should be close to 98-99% accurate as of January.
* League histories updated with information from 2003 season. (MVP, Gold Gloves, etc)
* Career leaders feature the real MLB all-time leaders.

Version 1.3 includes:

* ALL Prospects in John Sickels 2004 Baseball Prospect Book. Yep, that’s right…nearly 1,000 PROSPECTS!!!
* MOST Non-Roster Spring Training invitees
* Up-to-date major injuries as of March 15th, 2004.
* Teams feature anywhere from 55-75 players on their ROSTER!

* Prospects placed approximately at the level they should be! (* I tried my best on information provided…most should be at the level they will compete at this year, or ended 2003 at.)

Here is my chart I used to interpret John Sickels scouting reports on prospects. John gives the prospect anywhere from an “A” (ie SUPER elite) to “C-“ (fringe player at best)

To convert his letters into “Stars”, here is a general chart I followed:
Sickels Letter grade – OOTP STARS

A: 4.5-5.0
A-: 4.0-4.5
B+:3.5-4.0
B: 3.0-3.5
B-: 3.0
C+: 2.5
C: 2.0-2.5
C-: 2.0

I’ve also entered appropriate velocity, and pitches per information I was provided.

Same with hitters; some fielders I was not provided with ample information on fielding/arm ratings…. For most of these players I set them to “average” (C range, C arm)

Sadly, this is now the end of my journey with you. Due to work and college, I will not be able to update this set.

Some things I wanted to get to, but didn’t:
• Alter Birthdates (to NOT be in ALL CAPS)
• Assign correct jersey numbers for players.

Both of these are purely “eye-candy”, and were left out.

If you disagree with any ratings/talents, feel free to change them to whatever you want!!!

Thanks to everyone for your support!
