Jets Release Long Tenured Jets
The New York Jets released Linebacker's Marvin Jones and Mo Lewis as expected. The team has said they are looking to get younger, and they felt that 31-year old Marvin Jones and 34-year old Mo Lewis was where they could start.
It was expected that Mo Lewis was a sure thing, because of his age and cap hit, however, the talks recently that Jones was going to be released came as a bit of a surprise. The release of Jones signals that the team will move Cowart to his natural linebacking position, the middle. The Jets will have to address the departure of Lewis and Jones through the draft or free agency.
