Fans Catch BreakBarnstormers limit price increase to club, luxury seats January 11, 2009
Iowa City, IA (Ticker) – Despite coming off a fourth consecutive playoff appearance and losing $16.6 million last season, the Barnstormers decided to leave most ticket prices the same for the 2009 season. “Our team should be doing better than just getting to the playoffs—we should be going deeper into the postseason,” said team owner Ben Cleveland. “We wanted to give something back to the fans, so we’re not going to increase most of our ticket prices this year."
Cleveland said that the only price hikes will be to club seats and luxury boxes, both of which will increase 5%. “We’re still below the average of our two closest competitors, Chicago and St. Louis,” Cleveland added.
