Surprisingly, this site:
http://tennis.about.com/cs/beginners...innerscore.htm does talk about an alternate scoring system, but it uses "1,2,3" in place of "15,30,40". That's the first reference I've found yet to an alternate score reporting for tennis. I can't find any mention of the 5,3,4 system.
