Well, the first statement is relevant, I think. Typically, you'd ask for sentencing leniency is it's your only brush with the law. Martha Stewart, for example, got the sentence she did because it was a first offense and she could demonstrate all of the good things she had done in her life.
The second statement seems to be a poor way of saying that she's suffered enough, and shouldn't be imprisoned. The way it came out, though, is ridiculous.
