Behind the scenes:
In the UMVC, Cresco-ND narrowly escaped Garnavillo in a game that indicates both squads have defenses ready to play. North Winn easily dismantled their opponent, and Valley of Elgin crushed Lansing, 38-0, in a game that might be an indication of both squads' ability.
In our win over North Linn, we gave up a ton of passing yards, but racked up 6 sacks (we knew we would be strong in the front 4 pass rush) and 3 turnovers that went our way sealed the victory. Luck, it would seem, went our way on this one. We'll need all the luck we can get next week.
Offensively, our running by committee worked reasonably, and our star players—QB Ingram, FB Eppbright, TE Hackett, DE Eisenbraun, and S Clements—all posted big games. Penalties are very low, as they have been all preseason. We look like a well-oiled machine with playmakers right now. Knock on wood…
No new injuries.
