Disgraceful revelations! On Bullseye (a darts based quiz) they used to have a speedboat or a car as the main prize, but you never knew which it was until it was revealed after you'd won or lost
The presenter, Jim Bowen, has just admitted that the producer had struck up a deal with the speedboat manufacturer that if they bought three, they would get a discounted price, and they always had two main prizes set up...
When the contestants won they revealed the speedboat, and when they lost and he said 'Now this is what you could have won' they showed the car! Outrageous! Especially when one of the 'winners' was from from Dudley, which about as far away from the seas as you can get in England!
(PS. for those of you already bored with this thread, you'll be pleased to know that the show's finished now, so there'll be no more running commentary - was a great nostalgic look back at trash quiz shows over the last 20 years or so though!)
