Windows XP still uses these system files, even though they're less important than they were in the past, and can be targeted by malicious programmers and spyware. Please visit Microsoft Support for a description of this particular problem. Also, you can go to Visual Tour.com and download their XP_Fix.EXE program. This often clears up the problem.
