My opponent raises pre-flop, bets the flop, and goes all in over my re-raise. Why the hell did I think he couldn't beat a pair of jacks? Honestlyk, here is why. He used his entire time back before raising. I lulled myself into thinking that he *must* have had A9, or a flush draw, or overs an thinking I was bluffing. And I quickly called his all in. Here's the problem. I was 5th overall in chips left. He was 4th. He was one of 4 guys that could bust me, and I was one of the few guys who could totally cripple him. I think that if I had queens it might not be so bad a call, and kings or aces and it is probably an ok call. But with pocket jacks, what hands will a solid player reasonably risk his tournament life with that I can beat? I was suprised as shit to see a set, but, I should have expected either 99 or an overpair.
also, I should have re-raised him pre-flop. He would have dumped his threes and I would have beaten AQ.
At this point, I now have 1,069,324 in chips and am the tournament chip leader.
