The Red Roper game was next, and I end up hitting last and playing short, my first game at short since I last played for the Ropers a few weeks ago. We play the Snipes, the engineering student team.
In the field I booted two balls. Nothing really I can say about them. One spun out of the glove, another handcuffed me...it was just hit too hard. I did make 5 putouts and 2 assists on the field as well.
At the bat, I went 2 for 3. I hit a nice shot the first time up, a line drive the blasted shortstop dove up the middle for, and somehow caught. Man, I still don't know how he got it. The next at bat I swear I hit the ball to the same spot, this time for a base hit. I score two batters later from second base.
Third at bat I hit a line drive to left, but the female on third got caught in a run down at home. Yes, she did not score from third base on a base hit to left. Grumble, grumble, grumble. Two batters later I head to the dugout.
We end up losing by 4.
