Defense

Riddols, Keith 90 DE Sr* 31 32
Nieves, Rodney 96 DE Sr* 29 29
Shin, Clyde 76 DE So* 24 61
Drummond, Shane 98 DE* Jr* 17 42
Stewart, Roosevelt 79 DE* Fr 9 12

Redshirt seniors Riddols and Nieves get the start. Drummond shows good potential and will be the primary backup.

Carrico, Ricky 72 DT Sr 46 46
Fox, Tyrell 92 DT Jr* 40 45
Hernandez, Freddie 95 DT So* 15 51
Foreman, Desmond 91 DT So* 13 65

Another area of strength, as both Carrico and Fox look to be very strong players. Fox in particular looks like he has the potential
to be a dominating force. Hernandez shows good potential and will be the primary backup.

Wheeler, Seth 55 ILB So 26 46
Flowers, J.B. 56 ILB Jr* 16 27
Bueter, Morris 94 ILB* So 13 38
Irons, Scottie 97 ILB* Jr* 13 32
Andrus, Britt 52 ILB* Jr 12 26

Wheeler is clearly the starter and, combined with the presence of Carrico and Fox, should make running up the middle tough against BGU. Flowers is
a solid backup.

Durham, Phil 45 OLB Sr* 35 47
Dawson, Mario 50 OLB Jr 26 26
Holcomb, Levon 99 OLB So 18 56
Wilkerson, Kyle 44 OLB Jr* 12 49
Hofmann, Vincent 54 OLB* So* 7 18

Durham gets the nod at SLB, while Wilkerson, who shows dynamic potential is the WLB. Dawson provides solid depth.

Zook, Roderick 33 CB Sr 39 39
Berry, Brant 47 CB Sr 33 50
Cornell, Lewis 42 CB Sr 23 39
Laney, Todd 39 CB* Fr 10 43
Bauer, Ian 20 CB* Fr 9 12
Lucas, Dominic 49 CB* Fr 7 19

Zook and Berry are the starters and should be solid. Lewis and Laney get redshirts to try and counteract the impending exodus of CBs.

Watson, Dusty 21 S Sr 27 42
Daniels, Ron 32 S Sr 26 26
Prescott, Austin 38 S Sr* 16 20
Whiting, Marc 31 S* Fr 9 45

Watson and Daniels are the starters. Prescott is a solid backup. Clearly, a recruiting need.

I will be running the 4-3 defense, since the strength of the defense is clearly on the D-Line. I will probably switch to the 46 against teams that
show a marked propensity for running the ball.

And now, on to the 2003 season!
