Check out the forums at fatwallet.com. People post tons of hot deal finds there. They very often have very nice Dell, Compaq, or Gateway systems that come out to $400 or less with coupons and rebates.
Whatever you do, don't stop at 128MB of RAM. Its probably cheaper to order it with 128 and then get 512 from somewhere else and put it in yourself. You can find name brand 512MB of 266mhz (sometimes faster) DDR for ~$50 if you shop around.
