South Forsyth - County Championship - FINALS RESULTS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bailey

#2 Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay - D Team - only 1 relay per school made finals, so Bailey didn't swim this event.

#6 Girls 200 Yard IM (2:23.32) - Managed to improve from the morning by just over a second, moving up from 10th to 9th in finals - 2:22.23

#12 Girls 100 Yard Butterfly (1:03.85) - Bailey was slightly off the pace from the morning posting a 1:04.03, and finishing 10th. All and all one heck of meet coming off her concussion and missed practice time

Bear -

#1 Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay - A Team (1:46.38) - Seeded 5th coming into finals and finished 5th...Bear split a 23.17 and team improved on their time by over a second from the morning - 1:45.20

#17 Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay - A Team (1:33.27) - Came in seeded 3rd and finished 3rd. Bear split a 23.47 with a conservative start...team added just over a second from the morning swim - 1:34.46

Overall

The boys ended up finishing 2nd in county, despite the poor lineup decisions made by the coach. Overall, the decision to swim Bear, Jake and Riley in 3 relays cost the team between 50 and 60 points. The overall winner on the boys side was Lambert who won by 300+ points and they extend their championship run to 10 straight years. South held on to second with West only 4 points behind and Central only 1.5 points behind them.

On the girls side South was able to end Lambert's 9 year run. Overall the War Eagles outscored Lambert by 27 points, but that's a bit misleading. In the swimming portion, South dominated, but Lambert girls took 1st through 5th place in diving and made up 100 points in the overall score. It was almost enough to extend their streak, and will probably be enough to get them the win next year.
