Greetings again, hoops fans. Just wanted to fill you in on how the Hawaii Classic turned out… As you know, we were dumped in the first round by Nebraska. UCLA beat Nebraska the next day 66-48 (ugg!) and coach’s brother, Jeff Wilt, led N.C. State to a 63-62 win over another one of our conference rivals, Washington.

We watched the championship game in the Cal athletic lounge on Sunday night, and it wasn’t pretty: UCLA outscored State in the second half 52-27 to win 81-61. The Pack had been up by 5 at the half. I guess the Bruins are for real.

We dropped to #14 in the latest polls, while NCSU is now #5 and UCLA is #2. We’re on the road again later this week, visiting Manhattan on Thursday. We know the Jaspers well after beating them 68-62 last season in a grind-it-out NCT Elite Eight contest. Coach Victory has been working us hard since we got back from Hawaii, and we’re hungry to make amends for our poor performance there.
