Scrawls -
It looks like Tucker is the real deal, and Vicksburg wasn't.
Cap'n -
Where you been lately? There's a new kid in town.

My Thoughts
Vicksburg is better than a 1-2 team.

My Reaction
Not bad. That's an IHOF Bowl quality team, and we were playing on the road. I would have liked a win, but you can't win 'em all.
TUCKER: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (Through 25% Of The Regular Season)

THE GOOD
  • The Solution: Shaun “The Solution” Duncan has lived up to the hype so far this season. He's third in QB rating (103.7), 2nd in yards per attempt (9.5), 2nd in TD passes (9), and 8th in passing yards (969)
  • The running game is BIZACK in the T-U-C!: The running game has hardly missed a beat, despite the absence of R.J. Ellard for most of the season's first quarter. Archie Trantham and Hugh Sipe, the latter signed in-season as a FA, have filled in nicely, turning in 5.04 and 4.22 ypc, respectively. The running game should only continue to improve with Ellard's return, projected by some to be as early as next week.
  • Tyrus On The Rise: Tyrus Shaye appears to have finally taken his game to the next level, and leads the team with 20 catches for 339 yards and 4 TD's
  • DEE-FENSE! DEE-FENSE! DEE-FENSE!!!: The Tiger "D" has been simply ferocious: 3rd-lowest yards per carry allowed, 2nd-lowest yards per completion allowed, 3rd-lowest points per game allowed.
  • First In The Southeast: At 3-1, the Tigers lead the super-competitive AOC Southeast, and own a victory over the Georgia Gridlock, who were thought by many to be the division favorite and an IHOF Bowl contender.

THE BAD? THE UGLY?
There really hasn't been much to complain about. People like to try to run against us, but only Vicksburg has been successful, and even their ypc was pretty pedestrian. Good running offense. Good passing offense. Good special teams. Good rushing defense. Good passing defense. Good scoring defense. No long-term injuries. We seem to be average or better in every meaningful stat category at this point, and in the top tier in several.

Divisional Results & Standings
Georgia beat Conyers 24-12, primarily on the strength of 156 rushing yards from Randy Reagor.
Orlando lost another 40-35 game, this time to Telluride.

Tucker 3 1
