WEEK SIX PREGAME THOUGHTS
We've got the Ft. Worth Fury this week. They were a pass-happy bunch last year, but drafted RB Jamal Pearson outta Auburn with the 1(5) pick. The details about the game...

We're 8-point favorites, but Ft. Worth has a nice balanced attack. The addition of rookie RB Pearson, the 1(5) pick this year, was huge for them. They're going to put up their share of points against us; there's little question about that. We need to outscore them. Their LB's and secondary look weak, so that doesn't look to be TOO much of a tall order. A win this week would be HUGE, with the Gridlock looming next week on the road. Given our fast start, I'd love to go into the bye week no worse than 5-2, and a win this week assures that.

In the division, the Gridlock host Vicksburg in what should be a battle of the running games. I'd love to see the Vipers pull this one out and give us a little more cushion in the SE. Orlando and Conyers both have byes this week, and perhaps can figure out what has gone wrong for them early.

Big games around the league include 5-0 Ann Arbor at 3-2 Fairbanks in what many feel is a preview of the NAC Conference Championship. North Plainfield (3-2) travels to Bordeaux (3-1) in a game that could have serious playoff implications down the road. Similarly, Paris (3-0-1) is at Boston (3-2) and Rochester (3-2) is at Maassluis (4-0). More of who the haves and have-nots are, especially in the AOC, could be revealed on Monday.

STATS UPDATE

He's been a little erratic at times, but QB Shaun "The Solution" Duncan is near the top of the AOC in several key categories:

QB RATING: 3rd (95.6)
PASSING YARDS: 2nd (1199)
YARDS PER ATTEMPT: 1st (9.22)
TOUCHDOWN PASSES: T-1st (11)

Yes, so far this year, the ever-egocentric one is right there among the best performers in the AOC, along with E.G. Lumpkin and Nate Sutter.

RB R.J. Ellard, in two games, has a 7.54 ypc average, and what's astounding is that his longest carry is only 23 yards.

SE Tyrus Shaye is 4th in the AOC in receptions, 4th in receiving yards, tied for first in TD catches, and no receiver in the league has been targetted more times with zero drops.
