A few fans are off my bandwagon at this point. Only 96,780 fans here for a matchup of top 25 teams.

We tweaked the gameplan to let Burford get 80% (instead of 60%) of the snaps.
He hits Jackson for 15 to move the chains.
They rape Jackson but no call.
Brown picks up a 3rd and 9 - cheater's proof.
Edwards to Jackson for 4 on 3rd and 4. Nice work, Jackson.
A 26 yard TD pass on a screen to Brown comes back, ineligible receiver downfield.
3rd and 21, at the 37, we run a draw for 2 yards.
McMullen comes in to make a 53 yard field goal. 3-0, 8:59 left in the quarter.

DT Jared Burford makes a big sack on 3rd and 6 as ASU was approaching field goal range. Punt.

OLB Cannonball Jones is making a series of tackles for the D.
Burford to Brewer for a first down on 3rd and 10. Brewer is playing hurt today.
We stall at the 19, McMullen is in for the kick. Good from 37. 6-0, 2:04 left in 1st quarter.

Wilkerson and Coleman - the combo gets their first hookup of the day for 26 yards to start the drive.
We are hit for a roughing the passer after they complete a 3rd and 12. ASU is up to our 25 after that unfortunate series of events.
TD run for Kenny Arrington. 7-6 ASU, 13:33 left in the half.

Holding penalty - they are starting to crop up.
And another holding, 2nd and 21 from our 4. Five penalties for 37 yards in early 2nd quarter.
ASU records a safety with a sack of Edwards. Maybe I need to pull him back to 0% of the snaps ... 9-6, 11:38 left in the half.

Greg Moore has had enough of this. He converges downfield to help with coverage on Coleman and picks off a pass. Hope he has some gas ready on the sidelines, because 99 yards is a long way to run. 13-9, 10:53 left in the half.

ASU is out to our 45 on the return. Kickoff was good, coverage wasn't.
Defensive holding ... I'm steaming on the sidelines.
Wilkerson makes a great pass on the run for 22 yards to Whittle on 3rd and 7. 2nd time he has done that - our guys don't make plays when taking that kind of heat.
DT Jack Farmer succeeds in bringing Wilkerson down, 3rd and goal at the 15.
They don't pick it up on the ground, kicker is in to give them a 27 yard field goal. 13-12, 7:18 left in half.

We see the first penalty of the day called against ASU, a roughing the passer after a 14 yard gain to Jackson. Out to midfield.
Once again they maul Jackson past five yards when they are fooled by a play fake. The refs still refuse to call it both ways. Blood pressure rising ...
Edwards makes a play to Brewer, who zigs and zags all the way to the end zone. 50 yards. Pass interference against ASU is declined. Thanks for nothing, zebras. 20-12, 5:50 left in the half.

Another long 3rd down conversion for Wilkerson - 20 yards when he needed 9. Into Bruin territory.
On 3rd and 9 at our 40 Wilkerson misfires, overthrowing his receiver but leading OLB Hank Swilling nicely. He brings it back to the 35.

Burford senses that the defense is not set, and goes on a quick count. WR Mike Voight gets behind the D, he is led well, and it all comes together for a 60 yard strike. 27-12, 1:53 left in the half.

ASU is having a lot of success in the return game. Out to their 40 this time.
Wilkerson continues to be at his best on 3rd down - 9 on 3rd and 7.
They get 6 on a screen pass on 3rd and 7. 4th and 1 at our 39, no timeouts and 0:43 left.
They run for three.
Wilkerson throws a strike on a deep ball, but it is dropped.
13 yard gain sets up a 41 yard kick, and it is good. 27-15 with 0:08 left in half.

We return the kick all the way to the ASU 41 and get to try a 59 yard field goal before the half. McMullen nails it! 30-15 at the break.

Halftime Notes:
Our passing game is as good as it has been in awhile. Which is good, because we aren't getting much on the ground.
Their passing game is pretty dangerous - we are doing a good job, but need to continue to add points.
Penalties and kickoff coverage need to improve.

Good to see our guys listen to me at the half. The Sun Devils return the kick out to the 50.
And we are called for defensive holding right away.
They cry to the refs again on the next play. Laundry must have gotten stuck in the pocket, no way they tried to give us a break.
ASU can't pick up a first down on their own and they punt from our 45.

We come out passing on first 10 plays. That had to throw them off guard - enough for us to march downfield 80 yards and put up six more points. Voight with the TD catch, from Burford. 37-15, 10:22 left in the quarter.

Turnabout is fair play, as ASU comes out running successfully. But they eventually abandon the run and the drive stalls at our 33. The 51 yard field goal attempt is wide left.

Brown does what he can to ruin the positive vibe we have, fumbling the ball and giving ASU possession on our 33.

Wilkerson gets an 18 yard TD pass on a screen to the TE. Two point conversion is good, score is now 37-23 with 3:44 left in the 3rd.

On 3rd and 7 Burford find Voight across the middle. He reverses his field and has lots of running room. 57 yards, to be exact, to the ASU 20.
Brown makes amends for the fumble with a quick burst from the 19, into the end zone. He really hit the jets on that run! 44-23, 1:45 left in 3rd.
Voight and Brewer are both over 100 yards on the day.

3 and out for Arizona State.

The defense comes up with a sack on 3rd down, we punt.
I've developed a healthy respect for Aaron Lipscomb as a return guy.

DE Joe Banducci comes up with a sack.
We force another 3 and out. Defense is bringing the heat now.

We begin to pound the football on the ground. Brown and FB Toomer pick up first downs.
Toomer drops a pass on 3rd down, we line up and convert a 33 yard field goal. 47-23, 8:23 left.
I think we have built a big enough lead to prevent a meltdown like last week ...

Coleman only has one grab with 7 minutes to play.
Another defensive holding penalty helps them convert a 3rd and 20. Puke.
DE Joe Banducci gets another sack, despite a holding call against the ASU line.
Punt.

Brown wants his 100 yard game - he has 18 carries for 88 yards with 5 to play.
Brown only gets 1 on a 3rd and 2, we punt and he may have lost his chance for the century mark.

DT Jared Burford drives his shoulder into Wilkerson. 5th sack of the day for the defense.
Punt.

Brown gets 100 with a minute to play. I would prefer he isn't in there, actually.
We run out the clock, getting Dawson some carries late.

Good win today. The defense really took it to a QB who had been devouring his competition prior to this afternoon.
