We played toe-to-toe with USC for 53 minutes, but couldn't make plays in the last 1/2 quarter. The momentum really swung with the 2 INTs and we never forced a turnover the whole game.

We had a golden opportunity with Sharpe out. Gurode finished 5-16 for 54 yards and 1 TD.

Ben Jackson continued his strong maturation this year. 8 catches for 95 yards and a TD. If Brewer leaves early I think Ben will be ready to be a legit #1 receiver next year.

We had 100 more yards of offense than USC and were over 50% on 3rd down conversions.

Of course we had more penalties (7-90) but that isn't why we lost this game.

Backup center Knight allowed a pair of sacks. The regular starters did a nice job in pass blocking.

SS Taz Simms had perhaps his best game of the year. 5 solos, 1 assist, a sack, a pass defended, and a forced fumble.

I'm having a hard time getting fired up for a bowl game right now. We are #13 in the Grey Dog rating, so just maybe we can sneak into the playoffs.
