38 games on the schedule, with one of those being a big time feature game between Pac 12 schools. Let's start there:

1/15/26- #23 UCLA (Tim Shepard) @ Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- UCLA lived by the three and died by the three in this one, shooting just 27.3% from behind the arc. Meanwhile, Stanford shot 46.2% from three point land. That and a few extra free throws was the difference.

Final Score: Stanford- 70, #23 UCLA- 60

Now to the rest of the weekly recap:

UConn (Randolph Childress) -- 5-12, 1-6 American.

1/14/26 vs. Tulsa (L 88-77).
1/17/26 at Memphis (L 80-65).

Things don't look to get much better this season, as it appears Coach Ginsberg has all but thrown in the towel and accepted his fate. We know the Huskies have the potential to play well as they did at a ranked UCF team, they just don't seem to be able to do it consistently, or often.

Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 8-8, 3-2 ACC.

1/14/26 vs. Georgia Tech (W 68-59).
1/17/26 at Georgia Tech (L 79-71).

A split for the Fighting Irish, against the same team. They lost on the road but win at home.

North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 8-10, 2-1 Atlantic Sun.

1/15/26 vs. UL Monroe (W 74-70).
1/17/26 vs. #15 USC Upstate (L 80-71).

A split for the Ospreys, who can't get it done in there 2nd big time game of the season. The shining grace is that they have a chance to reel off a few wins in a row if they can take care of business.

TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 8-8, 0-5 Big 12.

1/12/26 vs. #4 Baylor (L 85-72).
1/17/26 vs. Kansas State (L 70-68).

2 more losses for the Horned Frogs, who are getting closer to their first conference win, but no cigar.

#9 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 14-3, 4-1 Big East.

1/14/26 at Xavier (W 74-59).
1/17/26 at Seton Hall (L 98-90).

A split for the Red Storm, who drop their first game of Big East play this season, but are still in real good shape.

Sacramento State (David Ginsberg) -- 10-5, 2-2 Big Sky.

1/15/26 at Idaho (L 66-62).
1/17/26 vs. Montana State (W 79-55).

Another split for the Hornets, who now enter the extremely easy part of their conference schedule. The average win total of their next 8 games is just under 5, with only one of those teams currently having a winning record.

#6 Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 14-2, 3-1 Big Ten.

1/14/26 at #8 Iowa (L 95-65).
1/17/26 at Purdue (W 83-68).

A split for the Wildcats, who forgot to show up at Iowa, but fortunately will get another chance against them later in the season. Good bounce back win at Purdue though.

FIU (Brett Hawkins) -- 9-5, 3-1 Conference USA.

1/15/26 vs. South Dakota State (L 79-68).
1/17/26 vs. Louisiana Tech (W 82-74).

A really bad loss for the Golden Panthers this week to a 5 win team, but at least they were able to salvage the split.

Fairfield (Ariel Pryde) -- 14-3, 7-3 MAAC.

1/12/26 at Yale (W 91-79).
1/16/26 at Quinnipiac (W 83-78).
1/18/26 vs. Quinnipiac (W 72-61).

Huge week for the Stags who win 3 games, including a tough road game in non-conference play, and a road/home split against the same team. Now the schedule gets a bit easier.

San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 5-12, 2-5 Mountain West.

1/14/26 vs. #20 Utah State (L 86-71).
1/17/26 at New Mexico (W 87-81).

A split for the Spartans, as the road win at New Mexico broke a 4 game losing streak, but this team is still not surprising anybody this season.

Wagner (Will Brown) -- 12-5, 5-2 Northeast.

1/15/26 at Mt. St. Mary's (L 72-69).
1/17/26 at Robert Morris (W 84-77).

A split this week for the Seahawks, who have still won 6 of 7. The tough loss at Mt. St. Mary's broke a 5 game winning streak, but they've got a few winnable games in a row.

Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 7-9, 4-0 Pac 12.

1/15/26 vs. Oregon State (W 85-44).
1/17/26 vs. Utah (W 66-50).

Well, this feels like a completely different Buffalo team, as they've gotten off to a hot start in Pac 12 play. We'll learn a lot more as their next 3 games are against Arizona, UCLA, and Stanford. If they can steal 1 of those, there's still hope. Win 2, and people might talk. Win all 3?....

Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 12-4, 4-0 Pac 12.

1/15/26 vs. #23 UCLA- feature game, highlighted above.
1/17/26 at Oregon (W 79-69).

2 solid wins for the Cardinal, as they continue to roll to begin conference play.

#23 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 11-5, 1-3 Pac 12.

1/15/26 at Stanford- feature game, highlighted above.
1/17/26 vs. #7 Arizona (L 64-53).

Probably no cause for alarm for the Bruins, even though they lost both their games this week. 2 feature games on tap next week.

Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 10-5, 2-2 Pac 12.

1/15/26 at Utah (L 77-57).
1/17/26 vs. Gonzaga (W 85-83, OT).

A split for the Cougars, who are just trying to hang tough in an always tough Pac 12. It won't get any easier going forward.

#10 Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 14-2, 2-0 SEC.

1/14/26 vs. Arkansas (W 85-68).
1/17/26 at Auburn (W 66-58).

2 more wins for the Crimson Tide, who seem to be back on track after last weeks disastrous season.

Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 6-10, 4-2 SWAC.

1/12/26 at Southern (W 90-81).
1/17/26 at Alcorn State (L 78-53).

A split for the Golden Lions, who are going to have to do better if they are going to sneak into the postseason. They already know it's win either the conference regular season or conference tournament to make the postseason. Right now they aren't playing consistently enough to do either.

Troy (Benton Gale) -- 9-6, 5-3 Sun Belt.

1/15/26 vs. South Alabama (W 78-70).
1/17/26 at Florida Gulf Coast (W 77-71).

The Trojans get back on track with a couple wins this week, and hopefully they can keep it going next week.

San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 8-9, 1-6 WCC.

1/15/26 vs. St. Mary's (L 77-70).
1/17/26 vs. Pacific (L 112-105, OT).

The month of January has not been kind for the Toreros, who are still looking for their first win this month. Coach Shocker might want to take a step back and rethink things.

Here's a look at the national top 25 going into the week of Jan. 19-25:
