Nacrene City
Cheren meets me just inside and escorts me around before giving me some Chesto berries. He tells me the gym leader has normal Pokemon. Let’s look around! I really like the lofts, architecture of the area – it looks pretty realistic. I find a person asking if I have Petilil. If so, I can trade it for a Cottonee. I found a store in one of the old warehouses that was converted t a flat that sells X items. I need to remember that. I’m given a Charcoal after I tell someone I started with Tepig. I immediately give it to Tepig to hold. I’m told that the Warehouse Café has a special on Wednesday, which is tomorrow. I’ll try to remember to check it out.
I check out the gym and out comes a character named N. Is that the same person who attacked me after the Team Plasma appearance in the last City? She attacks and sends out Pidove. I have led with Snorts. Two flame charges and I’ve taken care of the Pidove. I’m told my foe is sending out a Pokemon named Tympole. I have no clue what that is, so I’m sticking with Snorts. It looks a bit like a Tadpole, so I probably left the worst Pokemon out. Just to make sure, I hit it with Flame Charge! It’s not very effective. It uses Bubblebeam. I’m down to red already. I switch with Chatters. It uses Supersonic. Chatters hits itself once; and then kills it with a couple of Vine Whips. Chatters is now level 14. Snorts is level 17. It is about to send out a Pokemon named Timburr. Sounds like a grass Pokemon. I order Chatters to return and send out Lazyeye. Gust is super effective against it, but it just looks like a dude with a log of wood in its hand. It is taken out in two turns. I got 1300 cash. Here we go:

Snorts evolved into Pignite!

It is now a Fight/Fire Pokemon, and it learned Arm Thrust. I replace Tail Whip. This will make it my main Pokemon for the gym, since fight tears through normal Pokemon.
