Kauai is my favorite as well, as there was a ton to do that wasn’t on the beach. It was the island that made me think “maybe I could live here.”

I’ve also been to the Big Island, but other than a day at the Volcanoes National Park (which was pretty cool, but from the west side of the island was an all day excursion) we stayed at the resort.

Oahu is definitely the most urban if you stay in Honolulu. There are more restaurants, but the beach areas are obviously touristy and have expensive shops to cater to the wealthier visitors. As a kid, we stayed on the North Shore which is much more removed from the city.
