Gold Invite @ Mt View Aquatic Center - 10/17 - 10/19

This meet was set up to break the sessions at 12 to 13 year olds. To make it easier on us, the coach entered Bailey and Bear in Open competition. This means they will swim with older kids, but they should still be racing people with similar times in their heats.

Bailey Breeze

#1 (d1/s1): G Open 200 Medley (2:32.49Y) - Needs to cut 4 seconds for a state cut - I think she does it...

#5 (d1/s1): G Open 400 Medley (5:13.12Y) - 2 seconds from a Sectional cut - I think she gets this one too.

#43 (d2/s3): G Open 200 Free (2:25.43Y) - Her free is better, so I expect a drop.

#49 (d2/s3): G Open 100 Back (1:08.58Y) - only needs to drop .1 for a State Cut - Again I think she gets it.

#55 (d2/s3): G Open 200 Breast (3:20.06Y) - I expect she drops time, but she's a long way from a cut, and she still doesn't believe in herself when it comes to Breaststroke.

#61 (d2/s3): G Open 100 Fly (1:06.57Y) - Ironically, with all the cuts I've predicted, I expect she'll add time in this one. Fatigue and the fact she swam this fast time just a few weeks back, leads me to believe we are looking at a 1:07 high.

Bear Breeze

#2 (d1/s1): B Open 200 Medley (2:38.98Y) - If his knees hold up on Breast, he could cut 5 seconds one.

#4 (d1/s1): B Open 50 Free (28.58Y) - Just set the PB a couple weeks ago, plus coming off a cold...I don't expect this time to be bettered.

#8 (d1/s1): B Open 500 Free (5:39.41Y) - could drop a bunch of time, or add if he's not 100% following the cold.

#44 (d2/s3): B Open 200 Free (2:09.62Y) - See the 50 Free...

#50 (d2/s3): B Open 100 Back (1:11.06Y) - needs to drop just over a second to get a sectional cut...I think he might do it here.

#56 (d2/s3): B Open 200 Breast (3:03.93Y) - practiced breast for the first time in weeks due to the Osgood-Schletter - Said his legs were very stiff and sore even before the set was over. I don't expect much because of that.

#62 (d2/s3): B Open 100 Fly (1:09.25Y) - Only needs to cut a quarter of a second to get a secontional cut.

Brett Breeze

Not sure what to expect. They aren't tapering at all for this meet, so I expect he'll still be fatigued going into the races.

#4 (d1/s1): B Open 50 Free (30.33Y) - Has already beaten this time at Summer League swims, should go 28 high if he's feeling well.

#6 (d1/s1): B Open 400 Medley (5:12.60Y) - How is his fly? If he limits breathing, even tired he might challenge his PB.

#42 (d2/s3): B 13-14 200 Free (2:13.29Y) - see opening comments

#48 (d2/s3): B 13-14 100 Back (1:12.87Y) - Coach is trying to get him to sink his uppper body more and get his legs higher. He's been struggling with that new form, too quick to return to what is comfortable. Not sure he'll be able to do the new form in this one.

#54 (d2/s3): B 13-14 200 Breast (2:42.45Y) - I want him to improve here, and I know he can, but I'm not sure if he'll be able to do it at the end of the second day of racing.
