Gold Grand Prix Meet 2 - RESULTS

----------------------------------------------------------

Bailey

#213A (d1/s1): G 11-12 200 Fly (2:30.64Y) – This was the first time this season Bailey swam this event, and she actually swam the fastest time for any swimmer in any age group. She posted a personal best time of 2:23.72, which is only about a second off of the 13/14 year old sectional cut. All that said, she wasn’t real happy with it. Feels she left several seconds in the pool and is very excited about swimming it in the South Carolina travel meet next month.

#227A (d1/s1): G 11-12 200 Back (2:32.72Y ) – Also first time for this swim this season. She dropped some time to a 2:31.63. When she got out after this race she was pale and not feeling well. I believe in this thread I’ve mentioned Bailey’s periodic problems eating breakfast, well that is just part of her issues…though it hasn’t happened in quite a while, she can go very pale and semi-pass out. The doctor said it was related to her body using up its fuel reserves and that she needs to drink juice and eat some crackers or cookies when it occurs. She was on the verge of this…which couldn’t have helped her swim. She is expecting to do much better in this next time.

#233A (d1/s1): G 11-12 50 Breast (41.48Y ) – Because she wasn’t feeling well, she skipped this event.

#253A (d1/s1): G 11-12 100 Free (1:02.91Y ) – Did feel well enough by the time this one rolled around to swim again. She was solid, especially under the circumstances finishing in 1:02.28

-------------------------------------------------------

Bear

#212A (d1/s1): B 11-12 100 Fly (1:09.25Y ) – Bear’s fly just keeps getting better. Much smoother, longer reach, and it seems generally more fluid, which should leave to better efficiency. In this race he managed to drop another 2 seconds and finish in 1:07.17.

#228A (d1/s1): B 11-12 200 Back (2:31.95Y ) – Bear continued his strong swimming. In this one he was racing right next to Brett…and he was very good throughout posting a 2:25.59, which also gives him another state cut.

#240A (d1/s1): B 11-12 100 Breast (1:28.46Y ) – Dropped almost 3 seconds to a 1:25.61.

#248A (d1/s1): B 11-12 50 Free (28.58Y ) – I didn’t expect much here after his swim just a week before, but he was in the same heat with Brett again, and that may have been all it took to motivate him to drop another half second – 28.10.

Brett

#228B (d1/s1): B 13-14 200 Back (2:33.32Y ) – Swam this time just a week earlier, and he bettered it by 4.73 seconds. 2:28.59.

#234B (d1/s1): B 13-14 50 Breast (36.88Y ) – Not that this one matters, accept for Summer League, Brett dropped 2.31 seconds and finished with a 34.57. Honestly, I had him at a 34 flat, and the person I was with had him at a 34.12. Because there are no touch pads in this race, I think he may have been a bit faster than the official time.

#248B (d1/s1): B 13-14 50 Free (30.33Y ) – This seed time was wrong, should have been a 28.44. Brett added time this time around going up to a 29.22, but it was almost all on the dive. He tried to do his underwaters, but they weren’t very productive and they put him behind, but at least he tried…this was the meet to do that. I was proud of that, it proves he was focused on what he should be.

#254B (d1/s1): B 13-14 100 Free (1:02.92Y ) – This was a good swim and a good bounce back. He managed to drop another second off of his time from the previous week, finishing in a 1:02.00.
