High School Meet - 7th Annual High School Invitational @ Cumming Aquatic Center

So the meet this weekend was a 9 team affair with the following schools competing...

Buford
Flowery Branch
King's Ridge
Mt Vernon
North Forsyth
South Forstyh
West Forsyth
West Hall
Winder-Barrow

South Forsyth won the meet with a score of 1300.50. The boys and the girls both won on the way to the overall victory. The final scores were:

Here is how Brett did:

200 B Medley Relay - Brett swam a 34.7 split in his Breast leg and the team finished 9th overall

200 Free - Brett swam a 2:12.72, which is about 4 seconds off his personal best and a disappointing swim for him, but still good enough for 9th

500 Free - This time Brett had a good swim, despite the fact the scoreboard was malfunctioning, so his counter didn't have splits and thus no way to let him know if he was swimming a good race or not. He finished with a 5:45.75, good enough for 5th overall, and it earns him one of the two time cuts he needs to get his varsity letter.

200 B Free Relay - This came on the heals of the 500, and Brett got no time to rest before this event. His dive leading off was terrible. Extremely deep, that combined with the fatigue caused his swim to be around a 29.5...The relay did finish 8th overall.

When it was all said and done, Brett earned 32 points for the team. That's good enough for a 6th place tie on the boys side, not bad for a true freshman. He was very excited after the meet. In fact, there are some pictures on the team website that he's in...you can see them here...

In the picture at the top of the page, Brett is the face furthest to the right of your screen. In the picture on the bottom Brett is the boy to the right of the one with the headband on.
