Before the game, we have a trade to report:
The Wolves send Shabazz Muhamad and Kevin Martin to the Knicks for J.R. Smith and Quincy Acy.
The Wolves signed Rondo in the offseason and have an interesting group of players: Rondo (86), Wiggins (83), Rubio (81), Young (80), LaVine (80), Turner (78), J.R Smith (77), Bennett (77), Pekovic (77), Gorgui Dieng (77), Kyle Korver (74)
Time for our game against the Thunder. We are prepared to double Durant if he starts off hot.
MCW with a hot start but he is expending a lot of energy. We rest him with 6 minutes to go in the quarter. Tied at 12.
By attacking inside with our size advantage, we build a 28-24 lead at the end of 1. We got to the line 7 times that quarter which was key.
MCW with a nice steal and 2-1 in fast breakaway alley-oop to Theus to tie it at 43. Durant is having a rough night and that is because Theus and Augmon are constantly smothering him.
Durant with 6 quick points to end the half. We are down 51-47 at the half.
Westbrook with 10 points and Durant with 10.
Augmon with a SPECTACULAR put back reverse dunk to make it a 53-49 game early in the 3rd. That gets our crowd fired up.
But, Durant schools him the next play and blows by him for a dunk.
Ibaka, Durant, and Westbrook dissecting us now. Down 65-55.
Durant is really heating up. We are down 79-66 at the end of 3.
Embiid with a nasty dunk that fires up the crowed butwe are still down 83-73. We are doubling Durant and he is still making plays to kill us.
We try Deng on Durant and Durant is blowing by him.
Their defense is smothering us as well. We are struggling on both ends in the 4th.
Durant is picking apart our double teams with smart passes (I've had double teams work very well against other players.) They get some easy baskets and build a 20 point lead.
We close the gap late but it wasn't this close. We lose 102-91.
Durant was the player of the game with 25 points, 10 boards, and 4 assists. He shot 11 of 23.
