We are now 8-11 and 1.5 games behind the Raptors in the Atlantic Division.
Dec. 5th -
We travel to play the Pacers. They are 9-10 as they have George back but he isn't the same player he was before the injury as he has suffered a loss of some explosiveness. We are favored to win...
We jump in as it is a 3 point game late. We are leading 78-75 with 4 minutes to go...
Embiid with a rebound at one end then a pick and roll dunk with MCW at the other. Up 80-75.
George misses a jumper and we get a fastbreak going... Augmon with a beautiful dime to Ellis for a dunk.
George with a jumper that is good. He has 31 points.
Noel misses a shot but helps force a miss at the other end.
Next drive, Noel draws a foul inside. He make 1 of 2 to give us the 6 point lead.
Ellis misses a jumper. Embiid with the offensive board kicks it out to Ellis who hits the jumper this time.
We get a stop and Noel hits a 12 footer. 87-77 lead in the last minute.
We win the game 87-79. Nice road win.
MCW is the player of the game: 12 points, 7 boards, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 3 turnovers. He shot 5 of 13.
Ellis led us with 24 points and 4 assists. He shot 8 of 16, 1 of 4, and 7 of 9.
Noel with 9 points, 12 boards, and 1 block.
Augmon with 8 points and 6 boards in 30 minutes. He shot 3 of 9.
Theus with 8 points, 6 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block in 23 minutes. He shot 3 of 6.
Deng with 8 points, 4 boards, and 1 steal in 20 minutes. He shot 2 of 2, 1 of 1, and 3 of 4 from the line.
Rodgers with 6 points and 6 boards in 17 minutes.
Embiid with 6 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks in 27 minutes.
George shot 12 of 24, 5 of 9, and 2 of 3 with a game high 31 points. No one else on the team got into double figures.
Dec 9th, 2015 -
We travel to play the Hornets. They are 11-9 with a good starting 5. They are favored to win, but I like that we are well rested now. I think we'll take this.
We won every quarter except the 2nd when we were cold. A 33 point 4th quarter gave us the easy 99-80 win.
Embiid with his best scoring day of his career. 18 points on 8 of 11 shooting. He also had 10 boards and 2 blocks in 29 minutes.
Ellis with 17 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 7 of 13.
MCW with 15 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals. HE shot 5 of 15.
Rodgers with 14 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, and 1 steal in 20 minutes. He broke his toe in the game but can play through it.
Deng with 10 points and 4 boards in 20 minutes.
Augmon with 8 points, 7 assists, 5 boards, 1 steal, and 1 block in 29 minutes.
Theus with 6 points, 4 boards, and 1 steal in 20 minutes.
Noel with a quiet night - 5 points, 4 boards, and 1 assist in 29 minutes.
The Hornets were led by 20 points from Walker.
David West with 16 points and Lance Stephenson with 16 points. Isaiah Thomas was held to a horrid 3 of 16 shooting by MCW.
In other news:
Top PG rookie Scot Jinks (drafted #3 overall) has been excellent. The former Michigan State PG had a game winner for Orlando against the Heat. The rookie is averaging 19.6 ppg and 5.9 apg on 50% shooting.
#1 pick Lazaro Alvarez has battled injuries this year but he is still averaging 12.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 2.6 apg for the Kings.
C Preston Wagner who was a shocking #2 pick despite being the bestC in the draft is averaging 11.2 ppg and 4.7 rpg for the Suns. My staff thinks he was a huge mistake by the Suns and that he is already close to his ceiling. He has a 74 overall rating right now, by far the lowest of the top 10 picks.
Dec 11th -
We travel to play the Celtics. They are 7-13. They beat us 113-94 last time but we are favored to beat them this time. Our team is rested and ready to go.
Their starting 5: Smart (81), Bradley (79), SF James Young (74), PF Jared Sullinger (80), C Kelly Olynyk (74)
Their bench: SF Jeff Green (74), C Vitor Faverani (73), PF/C Marreese Speights (73), PG Phil Pressey (72), C Tyler Zeller (72), and PG J.J. Barea (71)
