I'm not good with the relative terminology, but I suppose it might be useful for me to mention what's going on in this thread. My mother's second husband has had various serious and painful health conditions for years, starting with back/issues from being a mechanic most of his working life and progressing from there the knee/feet issues and so forth. He's been diagnosed with third-stage carcinoma which has spread widely in his lymph nodes, chemo is coming and I'm not sure what else.
I'm not particularly close to him myself, but at the same time he really didn't need any more health issues to deal with. For a long time now the situation has been one already where a reasonably pain-free life wasn't ever going to happen. So, in keeping with the sentiment of the thread, I fully agree that ...
