I vote 4 and 3 both, first a talk, then assign them some tasks that force them to interact positively. Can be as simple as have them lead the team onto the field for your first game (We go 2 by 2 and have the players hold hands) Put in a "fun" end of practice event like a piggyback race and pair them up. I did those types of things once a week when I coached Pop Warner years back and it was always something the kids enjoyed.
