-Pre-Show Dark Segment
Lord Alfred Hayes interviews Brian Adias. He says he's excited to take on one of Gary Hart's client's to show him he doesn't need him. (C-)

-Pre-Show Dark Match
King Kong Bundy (w/Gary Hart) defeats Brian Adias in 8:10 by pinfall. (B-). After the match, Hart cut a promo putting over King Kong Bundy. (C+)

-Pre-Show Dark Segment.
Right before the show was scheduled to start, Adrian Adonis showed up at the announce table, where Lord Alfred Hayes interviewed him. Hayes pointed out that Adonis looks much different than the last time we saw him several months ago - his hair has grown back, his typical "playboy" attire is gone, and he looks like a redneck - dirty t-shirt, boots, jeans. Adonis says on his time away, he spent time in Georgia and Mississippi, where he came across "real people", not like the phonies they have in Dallas and Arlington. Adonis says the world will see a new Adrian Adonis, starting tonight (C).

-As the show starts, Tiger Mask & Great Kabuki come to the ring for their tag team match. Kabuki performs his pre-match mist ritual. (B-)

-The Great Kabuki & Tiger Mask defeat Villanos IV & V in 12:02 when Tiger Mask pinned Villano IV. (C). Tiger Mask & Kabuki looked good.

-Nikita Koloff (w/Boris Malenko) defeated Road Warrior Animal in 9:09 by pinfall after Malenko hit Animal with Koloff's chain. (C+). After the match, Animal is slow to get to his feet when Koloff strikes him with the chain again. (C). Boris Malenko then cuts a promo - saying that while everyone's paying attention to the Freebirds and The Von Erichs, Koloff is dominating everything in his path. (C+)

The "new look" Adrian Adonis defeats Tommy Rodgers in 8:02 by pinfall. (C+)

Dick Murdoch defeats Jose Lothario in 10:31 by pinfall. (C+) Lothario seemed off his game, and was visibly tired towards the end of the match. After the match, Lord Alfred Hayes interviewed Murdoch about his win and his plans in WCCW. (B-)

-Michael Hayes cut a lengthy promo putting down the Von Erichs, and hyped his world title shot against David Von Erich tonight. (B)

-WCCW World Heavyweight Championship Match
David Von Erich defeats Michael Hayes in 14:56 by pinfall to make his 10th defense of the World Title. (B). After the match, with David celebrating in the ring, Hayes re-enters the ring and attacks David. David, however, is able to quickly turn the table, and eventually throws Hayes from the ring again. (B-). After the match, David cuts a promo thanking the Texas fans for all of their support. He tells them to make sure to watch the TV show this week, because he claims we'll find out whether the wrestlers in the locker room are as supportive as the fans are. (C+)

Overall Show Rating: B-

-Ordinary, non-televised show with a decent enough rating.

-I was surprised to see Bundy and Adias wrestle a B- match on the pre-show. Bundy might be ready for the next level. He's been involved in 13 matches rated at least B- this year. He wrestled 5 in all of 1983 (since the dynasty started in April).

-Adonis debuts his "red-neck gimmick". He'll be a big part of the tv show this week to forward his new role.

-Another solid David/Hayes match, though it was the promos and angles around it that assured our B- overall rating.
