-David Von Erich cuts a promo hyping the upcoming Battle Royal. He also says that he knows a lot of fans are confused about his comments regarding the Freebirds last week on TV, and his desire to "negotiate". He tells the fans to trust him, and that it will all make sense soon. (B-)

Piper earns a World Title shot in the main event tonight. The last 4 men in the ring were Piper, Adonis, Parsons, and Road Warrior Hawk. Adonis helped Piper eliminate Hawk & Parsons, then eliminated himself to allow Piper to win, much to the surprise of the ringside announcers, considering the prior rivalry between the two.

-Buddy Roberts & Michael Hayes cut a lengthy promo hyping their upcoming match with The Sheepherders. They say that tonight is merely a preview of the #1 Contender's Match this week on TV, and they don't plan on giving the Stephenville fans any more an effort than they have to tonight. (C)

-The Sheepherders (w/Skandor Akbar) defeated Michael Hayes & Buddy Roberts in 5:09 by countout, after Hayes & Roberts fled the match, where they were being dominated (C+) After the match, Skandor Akbar cuts a promo from the ring, hyping his team and berating the Freebirds for leaving (C+)

Overall Show Rating: C+

THOUGHTS:

-Not much worked well here tonight, in what was largely a throw-away show.

-So much for the Lothario/Sammartino tag team experiment, as they have "absolutely zero" chemistry. I'd like to build up the tag team division after the Von Erich/Freebird feud is over, so I might do a little more experimenting in pre-shows to see who works well with who.

-Adonis and Piper had a brutal feud several months ago, and now they were working together in the main event. This is the "new look" southern redneck Adonis, and his new relationship with Piper will be explained shortly.

-Randy Savage has all the talent in the world, but he's completely unknown in Texas. So he's going to spend a lot of time on pre-shows and non-TV events to slowly build up his popularity.

-I was surprised by heel v. heel tag team match was as good as it was. I wanted to see how well it did before giving it too much time on TV this week.

-Piper v. David had a brief feud about 2 months ago, so I threw them together here just to put another notch on David's title belt.
